The Imperial Guard are a force of great power. They find it difficult to fight huge, massive, horrible and giantic creatures, especially because they are human. From the private rank to the general the soldier of the Imperial Guard are unique. The Imperial Guard is the largest and most diverse organisation the galaxy has ever seen. It contains billions of men from a million different worlds. Men whose home was blistering desert, tropical jungle, icy steepe or desolate. The entire diversity of the massive Imperium is encapsulated in its ranks.
The power of the Imperial Guard does not lie in numbers alone. It is equiped with lumbering but deadly battle tanks, fast striding walkers and the heaviest artillery known. Whole worlds are dedicated to the production of war marchines of the Imperial Guard which, while inelegant, are fearsomley practical.
The Vast organisation known as the Imperial Guard has been the backbone of the Imperium's fighting forces for uncounted centuries. Its earliest origins can be traced back to the Imperial Army of the Great Crusade at the Dawn of the age of the Imperium.
THE TACTICA IMPERIUM
The Tactica Imperium is the most widespread manual employed by the Imperial Guard. Its not a single tome, however and has no one author; instead it is a whole collection of secret documents, papers, relics, doctrines, manuals and notes approved for Department Munitorum and the office of Lord Commander Militant. This is how the Imperial Guard get their regimental orders and the battle plans are made....

In the midst of war, genetically engineered super-beings, alien killing marchines, warrior mystics, and technology that approaches sorcery in its sophistication, the Imperial Guard are mere soldiers. In battle they can be bad sometimes especially guardsmen, they have 4+ to hit, and what ever the target is to wound. 5+ armour save on guardsmen. Tanks however are amazing, 2+ to hit and many other cool stuff, use large blast templates and have heavy bolters on the side. Imperial Guard is the best army for Heavy Support, especially the new Imperial Gurd tank "BANEBLADE" the tank from Mars.
The Imperial Guard have many herofic characters in their army, especially the Armageddon hero in the Third War. Commissar Yarrick

Also other characters include Lord Castellan Ursarker E. CREED, and his friend Colour Sergeant Jarran Kell. These special characters require over an army over 1,500 points. Also Colonel- commissar Ibram Gaunt and Colonel Schaeffer's Last Chances are major characters in the Imperial Guard.
